Abstract

The United Nation Framework Convention of Climate Change has risen the level of responsibility of international community for implementation of measures to preserve climate change and reduce emission of CO2. Along the Paris COP21 Agreement, the implementation pillars are: intended nationally determined contributions, development of new platforms for energy management base on carbon footprint, new technology and economic development and transfer of technology The European Fund for development provides opportunity for enhancement of the Croatian economy technology development and for harmonization with low carbon EU strategy, taking into account the economic strategy of smart specialization endorsed recently by EC and adopted by Croatian Parliament. Technology development standing on available local resources, new technologies, innovations and global market present the basis for long term sustainable development, that will be supported by EU funds along with domestic fiscal and other measures. The paper presents development vision for some technologies and examples of new opportunities for development of electro industry of Croatia, which is already present on global market
