Abstract

This paper covers the process of car conversion of Toyota Yaris with internal combustion engine to electric propulsion. Invested resources budget and whole conversion feasibility has been analyzed. It can be concluded that high prices and low availability of needed parts halt the process of development of electric cars. Biggest problem is still poor infrastructure and relatively short range of electric vehicles with long charging periods. One of the flaws of car conversion to electric propulsion is that usually older model cars are used in this process which in turn increases overall cost of conversion because of maintenance costs. In nearer future, it is expected that the
percentage of electric cars on roads will rise, especially in more developed countries.
