Abstract

From 1st March, 1996 to 31st December, 1997 at the Clinical Institute of Radiology of the Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka, we examined 44 patients suspected on aortal aneurism by computerized tomography. We analised the localization and the type of aneurisms. The evaluation of CT was made by the following methods: sensitivity (92%), specificity (100%), negative predictive value (62%), accuracy (93%). The same categories were evaluated for US: sensitivity (87%), specificity (100%), negative predictive value (50%), accuracy (88%). As results are not significantly different, we suggested US as the first choice in the diagnostics of aortal aneurisms.
