Abstract

The composition and physical-mechanical properties of the foundation soil are indispensable inputs for buildings design. Investigations processed in paper was conducted in two phases: first is drilling the probes and geophysical profiling by seismic refraction and multichannel analysis of surface waves, second is field and laboratory testing uniaxial compressive strength rock samples from drilled probes. During the implementation of these investigations, consideration was given to the potential groundwater contamination during the exploitation of the planned facility, so special attention is paid to the testing of the water permeability in investigation pits. Geotechnical parameters of foundation soil were determined using the RMR and GSI classification, and by direct determination of unit weight, Poisson coefficientas well as oedometer, shear and elastic soil module.
