Abstract

The European red mite population (Panonychus ulmi Koch) was studied in February of 2017 in IPM apple orchard ''Obreška'' (45°45′47″N 16°27′04″E) using the method of winter control of branches. The aim of the research was to determine the number of pest eggs during winter in five different apple varieties ('Golden Delicious', 'Braeburn', 'Gala', 'Idared' and 'Fuji'). The research results showed that the European red mite population differs between the varieties in the same production area. The pest population differs statistically between variety 'Fuji' and other apple varieties.
