DEVELOPMENT OF ROBOTS AND CHANGES THAT ROBOTS BRING

Abstract
This paper presents directions in which robots have been developing as well as some significant examples of individual development directions. The impact of the robot application on the competitiveness of the economies is highlighted. The paper also studies their impact on employment and the type of jobs and skills that will become obsolete and unnecessary and the jobs and skills that will be in high demand in future. We analyzed European initiative launched as the SPARC project for the period up to 2020, its impact on markets as well as the additional employment that is expected. The situation in Croatia in terms of robot application including both production and development potential of Croatian economy is presented. Examples of
successful companies in the development and application of robots are pointed out. The paper describes the aspects of education and educational institutions in the field of robotics.
