Abstract
The permanental polynomial of a graph is presented. It is
shown how it could be constructed by means of the Sachs formula.
The recursion relations for calculation of the permanental polynomials
of chains (linear polyenes) and cycles (annulenes) are given.
The properties of the coefficients of the permanental polynomial
are discussed. The connection between the characteristic and permanental
polynomials is described.
