Abstract

The authors demonstrate 14 cases of benign kidney tumours in 10 years, i.e. 7 oncocytomas, 5 angiomyolipomas and 2 adenomas. All were discovered by chance during echosonographic or x-ray check-ups for other reasons. In all but one case (angiomyolipoma), the preoperative diagnosis was falsely set as a carcinoma of parenchyma. Since the operative technique is completely different in case of carcinoma, there is a need for more accurate preoperative diagnosis. Based on our own experience, it is the aim of this paper to underline some Symptomatologie, ultrasonographic and roentgenologic elements which can contribute to correct preoperative diagnosis.
