Abstract

From 1985 to 1989 77 renal tumors were diagnosed. 6 of which were benign and 71 malignant. The most frequent benign lesion was angiomyolipoma (5.2 % of all the analysed cases), and renal cell carcinoma (53.2! %) together with transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis (35.1 %, with frequency 3.5 times higher than excepted) were the most common malignant tumors. Renal tumors occured twice as frequent in man than in woman. Their clinical manifestations occured in the 6th and 7th decade of their lifetime. Clinicopathologic correlatin was »uncertain« in 70 % of the cases and negative in 5.2 % of the cases.
