Abstract
In November 2017 the Ordinance on Collecting Native Wild Species (Official Gazette 114/2017) entered into force. It substitutes the former Ordinance on the Collecting of Protected Wild Plants for the Purpose of Processing, Trading and Other Types of Traffic (Official Gazette 154/2008). The new Ordinance provides the list of native wild species for which, if collected commercially from nature, a permit has to be obtained. It also prescribes general management and protection measures of these species and species groups, defines in detail the content of the application for obtaining permits for their commercial use, as well as the conditions for obtaining permits. Regarding plants, a total of 266 species, subspecies and hybrids of plants without algae (Plantae - Spermatophyta, Pteridophyta, Bryophyta) are listed in the new Ordinance, as well as two species of algae (Algae).
