Some physiological parametres of male school children aged 8-18 years

Abstract
A longitudinal study has been performed on a sample of boys aged 8 to 18 years. The values and the trend of some physiological parametres at rest and at maximum work load have been registered. The boys have increased their absolute respiratory parametres and maximal oxygen intake with age. Relative maximal oxygen intake increases between the eighth and the eleventh year, then a slight decrease is registered, and from the thirteenth year onwards there is a significant increase in results.
