Abstract

This paper examines the temporal relationship between government revenues and expenditures for the transition economy of Croatia. Government expenditures and revenues are found to be trend stationary with a break in the deterministic trend. Given the relatively short-time horizon, tests of Granger-causality results lend support for the tax-spend hypotesis of the revenue-expenditure nexus.
