Abstract

Sinoscopy of the maxillary sinus was introduced in 1902, but rarely used in the first half of the century. The method was introduced 30 years ago due to the development of cold light and optics. It give more exact information of the mucosa and other structures than when relying on examination of the nasal cavity, X-rays and antral puncture alone. The authors compare the results obtained by sinoscopy and those obtained by the roentgen and clinical examinations.
