Abstract

The paper gives an overview of the investigations aiming to prove the mycotoxin in etiology of Balkan Endemic Nephropathy, The studies have been carried out in the past ten years by the Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health, University of Zagreb. Results of the field studies performed for the puropose of monitoring people in the endemic area of Brodska Posavina, of studies on experimental animals and of in vitro studies are presented.
