Abstract

A research concerning the effects of laser radiation of Ga-As laser upon the flow and the speed of reparational processes of the mucosa and the alveolar bones after oral surgical operation has been in progress at the Polyclinics for Teeth and Mouth Protection in Osijek. So far fifty patients, that had undergone the operation, were exposed to laser radiation. These patients were divided into five groups. The first two groups were exposed to the radiation treatment every day, and the other three ones daily during two weeks. A different radiation dosis has been applied to every group. It is evident that the daily radiation has given the best results in reducing the frequency of post-operational difficulties as well as in the speed of the wound, with daily doses of J. 0.72. The mineralization of smaller post-operational bone defects of 4 mm in size is more favourable in the first 45 days with daily 1.08 J. radiation. Further results complete our survey.
