Abstract

This article gives results of the follow - up research research on posttraumatic stress reactions of displaced elderly people (N=61). Scale of posttraumatic stress reactions was constructed with 28 items according to DSM-III-R criteria. During the six months period intensity of posttraumatic stress reactions did not significantly lowered. Posttraumatic stress reactions were slightly present at 22%, moderately present at 64% and strongly present at 12% population. Correlation analysis showed that important elements for diminishing those reactions were quality of interpersonal relations and social support.
