ECONOMICS OF CORRUPTION
Dinko Dubravčić
Abstract
The redistribution of rents between the bribers and the bribees is not the only consequence of corruption - it has a number of negative economic effects since it reduces production, increases costs and slows down economic growth. These effects are discussed in the paper from the standpoint of microeconomics and industrial organization. In addition, we review research on the relationship between corruption, investment, the structure of capital inflows and other factors influencing economic development.
