Abstract

This paper elaborates the role of cadastre in environmental protection, and points out the importance of modernisation cadastre systems towards improvement of environment protection. It is given an overview of significant international declarations and land policy instruments for environment protection. The importance of cadastre infrastructure in evidence and registration of land goods, such as waters, forests and other natural areas, it is specially stressed. Finally, it is listed the spatial databases relevant for environment protection, supported by multipurpose cadastre in Land information system.
