»ILUSTROVANI POLUMJESEČNIK« KULISA (COULISSE MAGAZINE) AND POPULARIZATION OF THE THEATRE

Abstract
Magazine for popularization of culture / popular culture Kulisa (Coulisse) was published in Zagreb from 1927 to 1941, and in subtitles, that were changed several times, theatre was always mentioned. This paper, particularly on the example of 7th issue (1933), gives a survey of articles on theatre published that year in Kulisa, with special attention payed to editorials propositions of ways to deal with consequences of financial crises in theatre, its opinions on relations between film and theatre, and its estimations of the position of theatre in popular culture.
