Abstract

Regular star polygon is a geometric figure most commonly encountered in art and architecture, but it also has its application in solving certain optimization problems. This figure is generated by successively connecting points (most often nonadjacent) that are regularly spaced on the circle, whereby connection is repeated until we return to the starting point. In this paper, we study their geometrical properties and present their role in art and culture.
