Abstract

Objective of study is to report the prevalence of thyroid disease nurses working on the activities of
internal medicine. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The study was conducted with 70 nurses working on the activities
of Internal Medicine. The study included 54 patients, and 16 refused interviews. Of the 54 respondents
agreed, 41 women and 3 men.
The results obtained were processed by statistical method via an anonymous questionnaire. The questionnaire
consists of 16 questions. Results have confirmed that there is a presence of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism
with nurses, age onset of the disease, and their relationship to disease control and treatment.
Considering the results, it was noted the concern of nurses for their health, but have persistent symptoms that
could indicate a possible disease of the thyroid disease
