Use of antiseptics in pediatric dentistry

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to review the use of antiseptics and defi ne the meaning of dental antiseptics in the control and elimination
of microorganisms as an integral part of prevention and treatment of plaque diseases in pediatric dentistry. Also, the article
describes the known characteristics and mechanism of action of some antiseptics, contributing to current indications for their use in
pediatric and preventive dentistry.
