Abstract

The author is comparatively analysing the provisions of the 1974 Athens Convention relating to the Carriage of Passengers and theit Luggage by Sea regulating the time-bar for actiones for damages arising out of the death of or personal injury to a passenger, and the corresponding solutions of Croatian internal law. At the internal level, the time-bar for those actiones has been regulated by the provisions of the 1994 Croatian Maritime Code and by the Croatian Law on Obligations. The author gives a critical review of some provisions of the Croatian Maritime Code. He concludes that the Maritime Code mainly incorporates the solutions of the international instrument. However there are some failures which have to be corrected.
