Abstract

The paper shows that with the establishment of production
relations in the information/communication work environment
of the contemporary information/global networking
society, a change of form of the social stratification structure
occurs through the appearance of an enormous economic range spanning the hierarchy scale from top to bottom. A
polarisation of society can be observed. The author warns
primarily of extreme wealth, i.e. of huge financial sums
connected with certain professional groups within the
information work paradigm. At the same time, the question
of rationality, justification and ethical value of extreme
economic stratification is raised.

Keywords

the information networking society; extreme inequalities; exploitation
