Abstract

In comparison to the previous regulations, the Croatian Maritime Code represents an improvement in development of the maritime law.
Such a big normative act necessary implies solutions that are not acceptable for all. The author makes several remarks on regulations which he does not take as the most favourable solutions.
The most prominent remarks are those concerning some of the Code definitions, the maritime demesne, definitions of the coast, the state to which ships belong, the entering of ships into the Croatian Register of Shiping, operator's liability for death and injuries of the crew members and some of the temporary provisions.
