Abstract

The prevalence of allergic diseases is rapidly
increasing over the last 30 years, especially in most industrialized
countries of the world. In this paper, the most important
individual and environmental factors involved in occurance
of allergic diseases are described: genetic predisposition,
environmental pollution, modern life style including
dwellings, diet, chronic stress and medications. The influence
of increased allergy diagnosis and awareness is considered
as well as recommended preventive measures in risk families
