Abstract
In Muda labudova (ML) there are 16 troglobiotic taxa established till now. They belong to the following groups: gastropods (Gastropoda), spiders (Araneae), pseudoscorpions (Pseudoscorpiones), harvestmen (Opiliones), crustaceans (Crustacea), myriapods (Myriapoda), springtails (Collembola) and coleopterans (Coleoptera). Coleopterans are the most diverse group, with five species found in ML. The most interesting is, Velebitaphaenops giganteus, an endemic genus and species, found only in Crnopac area for now. New species of spiders and springtails from ML are currently in determination process. The fauna in ML corresponds to other major caves on Crnopac. Species found on Crnopac are mostly endemic either to Crnopac or to Velebit and Lika region. The area of south-east tip of Velebit is also biogeographically interesting. It is the southernmost part of the North-dinaric region and represents the southernmost habitat and the areal termination
for many species. Future biological exploration of ML and othercapital caves on Crnopac will surely produce important scientific data that will give additional values to the research area.
