Abstract

In the last decade, the quality of living of disabled people
has become the most discussed issue among professionals,
politicians, academics and disabled people themselves. In
this review we shall look at the disabled people's contribution
to the development of theories, to setting up social services
and making new legislation, which all provides for a better
quality of living for them and increases their participation in the community. We are also going to present the first steps
that the "Group for Independent Living Split 95" in Croatia
has made, while aspiring to a better quality of living for
themselves and for other disabled people in the country.
