Abstract
Smoking is a pandemic spread in all layers
of the population. Nicotine, contained in the tobacco smoke,

smoke. Most affected are respiratory and circulatory systems.
Besides the mechanisms of the effects of smoking on particular
systems, in the work are accentuated other aspects, as
the features of addiction, reasons for smoking, the danger of
passive smoking, the programs of eradication of smoking,
and physician’s obligations regarding smoking.
