Abstract

Sinter plants in the region of Central & Eastern Europe are typical for the processing of iron ores with high SiO2 content, which leads to an unusual high silica ratio in the sinters compared to the rest of the world. This study describes the scenario in sinter plants in Central & Eastern Europe and analyzes some iron ores exploited in Russia and Ukraine using the XRF and light microscope analytical methods.
