Synthesis of an Acyclic Analogue of Ionone

Abstract
5-iso-Propyl-6-methyl-3,5-heptadien-2-one (Vl is synthesized
by two independent syilthetic routes. It shows an odor similar to
-ionone and possesses analogous physical properties.
