Abstract
The preparation of racemic 1-hydroxy-2-aminoeicosane (C20 -
-sphingine) is described. The racemic base was resolved into the
optical antipodes via the diastereomeric L-glutamates. N-Acetyland
O,N-diacetyl derivatives of the enantiomeric bases are described.
D-Configuration is assigned to the (-) base.
