Abstract
Phytosphingosine of yeast c erebrin is a mixture of C 1 8 and C20-base1 - 3 • Recently , Oda and Kamiya4 stated that C18 and C 20-compounds are present in 2:1 ratio. The most recent gas chromatographic analysis of Sweeley> has shown tha t the base mixture obtained from yeast carebrin contained 590/o of the C1 8 -compound and 380/o of th e C 20-compound. Thus, there is a fair agree ment in the results of both analyses.
