Syntheses and Structure of Some 5-Substituted 2,3-Dihydro-1,2,4-triazine-3-thiones

Abstract
The synthesis of some 5-substituted and 2,5-disubstituted
2,3-dihydro-1,2,4-triazine-3-thiones from arylglyoxals and the corresponding tbiosemicarbazides is described. Prepared were also
different S-substituted 5-aryl-3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazines and some
reactions of these compounds are described. Comparison of the
ultraviolet and infrared spectra of some of these compounds
revealed that the first mentioned class of compounds exists in
the thione form.
