Abstract
The usage of economically viable and faster measurement techniques for collecting spatial data of larger areas is rapidly increasing. The goal of this article is to examine the height accuracy of the official Digital Terrain Model (DTM) of Republic of Croatia, obtained from photogrammetric restitution, as an example of the mentioned spatial data type. Its origin is precisely the reason why it is the most accurate official DTM of Republic of Croatia, covering urban areas in the whole country. Spatial analysis was completed in areas with different topographic characteristics. Height accuracy testing of the DTM has been performed in regards to the terrain slope, level of city development and vegetation. Its accuracy has respectively been examined by comparison with the official cadastral geodetic control points, terrestrial measurements and Digital Elevation Model (DEM), derived from Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data. Preparation and processing of spatial data was carried out using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Global Mapper and QGIS professional software packages, while the accuracy analysis and visualization was processed by ArcGIS software suite. This study is beneficial for feasibility studies for the construction of rainwater drainage systems and for other preparatory actions in the design of geospatial projects on larger area interventions.
