Abstract

This article deals with the problem of dead metaphor, especially with that based on the transmission from a sensory to unsensory sphere. The obvious correspondence
between the two parallel orders of phenomena - psychological and natural - reveals cognitive potential of metaphoric mind and its ability to conect two incompatible spheres of reality. Great presence of dead metaphor in expressing
undiscursive contents of thoughts proves the consistence of different ontological
spheres based on universal law. Intuitive reception of the metaphoric expressions, the insight of which conects the incompatible, liberates metaphor of limitations of the realistic semantics according to which the metaphoric meanings
are established only within the language itself. Dead metaphor has its roots in reality and it has certain ontological obligation, therefore the problem of dead metaphor needs an aditional epistemological, ontological and semantical research
analysis.
