Multimodal transport - Liability of the shipper, ship operator and insurer - Assignment by the agent of the forwarding transaction : [case review]

Abstract
Where an agent who has concluded a forwarding agreement with a shipper for the shipment of designated goods, assigns to the third person his claim arising out of certain bills of lading, such an assignment does not comprise all other bills of lading relating to the other goods carried on the ship. The assignment [cession] relates only to the ship carrier but not to the third parties who were also involved in the transport transaction.
