Abstract

The paper presents the results of the survey of self-assessment of the role of emotional intelligence and soft skills in six hundred respondents classified into four career periods: students preparing for work, first employment, participants in the mid-thirties (working) and at the end, workers in and above forties, with ten years of experience and a bit more mature reflection on career path. The conducted analysis confirmed the basic hypothesis of research as emotional intelligence and soft skills are present in all periods of personal development and that their importance is noticed and growing as people become older and more involved in the working environment
