Abstract

Renal oxalosis is characterized by the accumulation of calcium oxalate crystals within the renal parenchyma, which results in degeneration and necrosis of tubular epithelial cells, interstitial nephritis and renal sclerosis. The ultimate result of renal oxalosis is chronic kidney failure and uremia. This case report describes renal oxalosis and subsequent uremia in a cat. The report includes a presentation of gross and microscopic lesions, as well as a review of the pathogenesis and pathology of these two associated pathological conditions.
