Abstract

Pheochromocytoma is a tumour of the adrenal medulla. This neoplasm most commonly occurs in cattle and dogs. In terms of its biological behaviour it may be benign or malignant, and depending whether the tumour cells produce catecholamine, it may be functional or non-functional. Therefore, the clinical features in animals suffering from this disease may differ, depending on the type of the tumour. In most cases, it is diagnosed post mortem. In this short review a case from practice is described.
