Abstract

The additional rescue archaeological excavations of the AN 5 Petrijevci – Karaševo 1 site, on the route of D34 state road bypassing Petrijevci, uncovered the remains of archaeological structures located on the northern slopes of a gentle elevation next to a place where a small stream used to run. The central part of the excavated area contained post-holes and narrow ditches, but also fragments of La Tène and medieval pottery, indicating that the excavations comprised the northern edge of the prehistoric and medieval settlement standing to the south of today’s Petrijevci and the route of the future bypass.
