Abstract

The popular program of science education called Prehistoric Pottery: Interdisciplinarity and Experiment was organised as part of the science popularisation program undertaken by the Center for Experimental Archaeology together with the Institute of Archaeology and the Archaeology Department of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb, and financed by the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education. The goal is to combine several scientific disciplines by blurring the borders between them and creating a synergy of knowledge of archaeology, geology and ethnology in order to understand the entire pottery production process of the past, using the archaeological experiment as the main method to achieve the objectives. Also, the program intends to provide a more comprehensive understanding of archaeological materials so that the knowledge can be better applied and communicated to the public.
