Abstract
In medicine literature there are relatively few information about muscle ruptures, and the opinions about their treatment are often controversial. The authors tried to explain systematically the conceptions of the anatomical and biomechanical factors, significant in the muscle rupture origin.
In the first part the sorts of muscle injuries and mechanism of their origin are explained. After that morphological data and results of investigating the phenomenon of muscle and tendon ruptures after cutting and blood suply cessattion are given. Special attention was paid to the fundamental factors of muscle fiber strain, i.e. viscoelasticity, contractility and neuromuscular coordination. The article os concluded by the review of present investigations of injured muscle regeneration.
