Abstract

During the period of two weeks, functional electrostimulation of muscle triceps surae was applied on 6 female subjects. Alternating current of high frequency was used. Before and after the experimental period of electrostimulation, the subjects were measured for maximum isometric force of the ankle extensor muscle circumference of the calf and thickness of skin fold of the calf. It was recorded that the average increase of maximum static force was 16,2% increase in the circumference of the calf was, on the average, 0,79 cm and the average decrease of skin fold thickness on the calf was 1,88 cm.
