Abstract

If only those principal axes of image matrixes of covariances extracting at least 1/2 e 0.01 of the relative variance of those matrixes are considered as being significant, there can be achieved relatively small, but consistent number of factors, which are, in most cases, sufficient for the explication of image covariances.
It is probable that criteria based on the components of image covariances matrix's entropy are worth while further investigation.
