Abstract

The topic of this paper is an analysis of the content of documents that are linked
to the process of accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union in the period
of 20 years, from 1998 to 2018.
There are two main questions to be asked: 1. Have the European Union and Bosnia and
Herzegovina recognized, and if so, to what extent, the specificities of BiH’s state-law arrangement
regarding the role of cantons as the level of government in the process of European
integration, and 2. To what extent were the Croats of BiH, as one of the three constituent
peoples of the state of BiH, involved in BiH’s integration process into the EU.
Given the large number of documents dealing with this issue, by the state of Bosnia and
Herzegovina, and the European Union, the classification of the most important legal documents
for this topic of scientific research has been made and 18 most important documents
were directly analysed. Indirecty, understandaby, many more.
The paper has two parts, and is divided chronologically and by content.
