Abstract

Corridor Vc on the route of Budapest-Osijek-Sarajevo-Ploče is the link between
Northern, Central and Southern Europe and represents an exceptional value in the context
of the process of economic and transport integration of Central European region. Through
this transport corridor, the Central European area is linked to the Adriatic Sea and represents
a major priority in the construction of the road infrastructure of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The importance and the “potential” of Corridor VC is shown through data that says
that 56% of the total population of the country lives in this transport axis in Bosnia and
Herzegovina. If the national component is taken into consideration, the traffic route Vc
links the largest sections of the population of the Croat population in BiH, Posavina - Central
Bosnia - Herzegovina. A stronger transport links between these regions and Croatia,
as well as other countries, will be very important for the socio - economic development
and geo-economic relations in the region. The construction of the entire transport corridor
opens the possibility of inclusion in the main European traffic flows, and in the global European
economic system.
