Abstract

In visual inspections from 2015 to 2017, bark cankers were frequently
observed on walnut trees in orchards, as well as on solitary trees in Gardens and public areas. Botryosphaeria dothidea (Botryosphaeriaceae) was regularly isolated from necrotic areas beneath the bark, with Neofusicoccum parvum also recorded in several cases. These species are regarded as important pathogents of walnut worldwide, causing the disease known as Botryosphaeria canker. Disease symptoms, impact, epidemiology and control measures are briefly presented in the article.
