Abstract

Branched broomrape (Orobanche ramosa = Phelipanche ramosa) is a holoparasitic plant considered as one of the most important parasitic weeds in agriculture worldwide. Several years ago, broomrape emerged in processing tomato crops in north-western Istria, and it has continued to spread. O. ramosa is briefly described in the article, with a discussion on the possibility of its chemical control in tomato.
