Abstract

The subject of interest in this article is the poetic anthologies published in the 1930s and 1940s in Croatia in order to follow the intervention of ideologies in the concepts of representative anthology collections and, respectively, to establish the dynamics of the literary canon and the attempts to rewrite it. In the anthology practices of two decades, four anthology models have emerged: academic and institutional anthologies; group anthologies, tendentious and dialectal anthologies. The specific tensions in the Croatian literary situation caused by the influence of both major political and cultural projects are also commented.
